Imaging of COVID-19 vasculopathy from head to toe: Egyptian collective experience after 2 years of the pandemic

Abstract Background COVID-19 vasculopathy is a critical condition that impacts the disease prognosis including vasculitis and thromboembolic complications. This study aimed to provide Egyptian experience about during past two years of pandemic collectively include different modalities imaging techniques for diagnosis cerebrovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, peripheral arterial vascular Results multi-center retrospective analysis 3500 PCR-proved infection between March 2020 December 2021. A cohort 282 consecutive patients with was considered inclusion. They included 204 males 78 females (72:28%). The mean age 68 years, ranged from 48 90 years. Five radiologists evaluated examinations in consensus computed tomography (CT), CT-angiography (CTA), CT-perfusion (CTP), magnetic resonance (MRI), MR-arteriography (MRA), MR-venography (MRV). 244/282 (86.5%) suffered non-hemorrhagic cerebral ischemic infarctions. 13/282 (4.6%) hemorrhagic 5/282 (1.8%) vasculitis. Pulmonary angiopathy detected 10/282 (3.5%) patients, pulmonary embolism 10/10 infarctions 8/10 enlargement 5/10 "tree-in-bud" sign 2/10 patients. Intestinal ischemia small bowel obstruction were 3/282 (1%) while GIT bleeding encountered 4/282 (1.4%). Lower limb found (1%). Additionally; 39/282 (13.8%) developed deep venous thrombosis (DVT) due prolonged ICU recumbence 28/282 (10%) jugular vein sequel catheterization. p value (0.002) ( r ) = 0.8 statistically proved strong significant relation D-dimer levels.
